The Mason Dixon Nurse Honor Guard is a not-for-profit group of professional nurses who volunteer their time to honor fellow nurses at the end of life. Through a heartfelt and symbolic ceremony, we recognize the profound impact nurses have made on their patients, families, and communities. Inspired by traditions similar to military honor guards, our mission is simple—ensure no nurse goes unrecognized for a lifetime of care, compassion, and dedication.
How to Request a Tribute

Mason Dixon Nurse Honor Guard offers a specific Nightingale Tribute celebrating the career of a retired nurse, particularly a nurse who is nearing her last sunset. We visit the Personal Care, Assisted Living or Long-Term Care Facility, wherever the nurse is residing, and perform a brief ceremony for the nurse and her invited friends and family.

Mason Dixon Nurse Honor Guard is humbled to offer escorting of a nurse who is donating her/his organs so others may live. We stand side by side, walking from the nurse’s room to the operating room. If permitted, we will cover the nurse with our nursing cape and the cape will be given to the family once the nurse is in the operating room.
